Staytute intends the Services to be accessible to people with disabilities.
Standard
We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA. For instances operated for state or local government in the United States, we design toward the ADA Title II web and mobile accessibility rule (28 C.F.R. Part 35, Subpart H), which uses WCAG 2.1 AA as the technical standard.
Measures we take
- Semantic HTML and labeled form controls on new and redesigned pages
- Keyboard access for primary flows (navigation, forms, account sign-in)
- Text alternatives for meaningful images where we control the content
- Color contrast targets consistent with WCAG AA on Staytute-controlled chrome
- Testing with automated checkers and periodic manual keyboard review
User-generated content (complaint photos, operator-uploaded files, and some agency-supplied documents) may not meet WCAG. Map tiles and third-party embeds may have limits we do not control; we provide text or tabular alternatives where feasible.
Known limitations
- Older PDFs supplied by agencies may not be tagged
- Complex GIS or map layers may not be fully usable with a screen reader; address search and list views are the alternative
- Some archived marketing pages may not yet meet AA
