This Acceptable Use Policy (“AUP”) is part of the Terms of Service. It applies to everyone who uses Staytute, including operators, complainants, and municipal staff (except where a Government Customer’s internal policy is stricter).

You may not

Break the law or encourage others to do so
Submit false, misleading, or impersonating complaints, applications, or account information
Harass, threaten, dox, or discriminate against any person
Upload malware, or attempt to probe, scan, or breach the Services
Scrape, harvest, or bulk-download data except through documented APIs or exports we provide, or as allowed by a Government Customer for official use
Circumvent rate limits, robots rules, authentication, or access controls
Use the Services to send spam or unsolicited commercial messages
Interfere with another person’s account or a Government Customer’s administration of its program
Post sexual content involving minors, or any content we reasonably believe is exploitative
Upload material that infringes copyright, trademark, or other intellectual-property rights
Use the Services if you are a competitor doing so solely to copy features or data, except fair competitive research that does not burden our systems

Complaint submissions

Public complaint tools are for good-faith reports about short-term rental activity and related neighborhood or code issues. They are not for personal vendettas, housing discrimination, or knowingly false accusations. Repeat abuse may result in blocked submissions and referral to the Government Customer.

Municipal staff

Staff must use accounts only for official duties, follow the agency’s records and privacy rules, and not export personal data for personal use.

Enforcement

We may remove content, suspend accounts, preserve logs, and report activity to a Government Customer or law enforcement. We are not obligated to monitor all User Content but may do so to operate and secure the Services. Copyright notices are processed under the Copyright Policy.
